Pop-Up Ball Shop – Supporting Students for the Te Puke High School Ball

Pop-Up Ball Shop Te Puke

Annually, Year 12 and Year 13 students and their partners enjoy a night out they will never forget. The Te Puke High School Ball is usually held at the Te Puke Memorial Hall and if you are around on the night, we would highly recommend heading down to watch the youth shine like diamonds.

The theme for this year’s ball is “A Night on the Nile” and as in previous years it will be an epic night. Te Puke’s main street is usually closed to enable TPHS students to arrive in their chosen mode of transport and walk the red carpet.

Tracey and I love to see the line up of vehicles, muscle cars, golf carts, trucks and horseback. Watching the students get out of their transport in their dazzling attire is breathtaking.

So, we had an idea spring to mind! What if we could start a project that enabled us to support TPHS youth in acquiring ball gowns, suits, shoes and jewelery at a reduced rate. What if we could organise hair and makeup sessions and aid students with support and contribute toward a more affordable, breathtaking night out.

We, the trustees and panel of Vector Group Charitable Trust have decided to implement the Te Puke Pop-UP Ball Shop initiative, as one of many exciting initiatives to come.

Tying in the passion, creativity, inclusivity and innovation from our core values, we will setup shop and invite the Te Puke community to share with us in this creative and memorable venture.

The Pop-Up Ball Shop is to provide low cost hire of ball dresses, suits and accessories which have been generously donated by the community. A minimal fee will be charged in order to cover dry cleaning and costs associated with the running of the shop. We are excited about this sustainable and creative idea and particularly in the sharing of these beautiful garments year after year.

The Ball Shop will Pop-Up at the Vector Group Charitable Trust’s youth creatives space called The Loft. This local venue is located at 16 Oxford Street in down town Te Puke.

The Shop will be open approximately 6 weeks prior to the TPHS Ball and will be run by volunteer youth and organisation members.

Options:
A lay-by system enabling a more affordable option.
There will be an option to buy or hire other accessories at our discretion.
There will be a bond on all items and refundable on return of items.
There will be a draw for a lucky person to receive FREE hire-age
We are also working on some other goodies.

Shop hours:
The Loft will open after school until 5pm and there will be a Thursday evening open each week leading up to the ball. (contact Tracey on 0274144280)
There will also be opportunity for community to access garments, shoes and jewelery for different community events during the year.

We also endeavor to launch a formal community dinner and ball in the projected future.
